Learn about privacy!

Data Privacy Day, January 28, is an international event designed to raise awareness about the importance of protecting personal data. The UW Privacy Office is excited to offer free professional development opportunities throughout January for UW personnel and students to learn more about privacy.

Join a kick off event for a welcome and updates from Andreas Bohman, vice president for UW Information Technology and chief information officer, and meet Isaac Straley, UW’s new associate vice president for the Office of Information Security and chief information security officer. Additional events throughout the month offer UW personnel opportunities to gain clarity about privacy roles and responsibilities and learn how to build privacy into their projects and workflows. Students and UW personnel interested in protecting their own personal data can learn about an approach to managing their own privacy through a presentation on digital wellness.

We’ll also be presenters at the Compliance & Ethics Week at the end of January, with additional opportunities to learn about privacy!
